‘Avatar’ DVDs and Adding Value in Real Estate Investing
No comments yetAdding value in real estate investing and even James Cameron’s sci-fi epic “Avatar” would testify to this. Reports said that the movie has already sold 6.7 million DVDs in just four days. Now, this is something rather expected after the “Titanic” director’s hit dominated the big screen. If you read comments about the news though, you’ll notice something important.
It seems that the common complaint about the DVD release is that it does not have any special features. One reader commented that it’s like paying over and over again for watching the same movie. Whether this is a marketing tactic by the studio, it’s obvious that some people are disappointed because the producers did not “value add” their offer. In real estate investing, value-adding is something you might want to practice.
Just what is adding value from the perspective of a real estate investor? It is what it means literally. It is adding value to what you have to offer so that clients will come back to you. For instance, if you borrowed private money from a lender, you can value-add by giving him free plane tickets to a vacation spot. Plane tickets – compared to the profit you will earn through that person’s funding – do not cost a lot.
There are many ways to manifest this added value in real estate investing. Just remember, value-adding is also investing. You are adding value to your business today so your clients will continue to work with you and help you grow your business in the long run.
