Sunday Driving and Getting Real Estate Investing Leads

No comments yet

Some investors love driving on a Sunday morning. There are primarily two reasons for this: One is to unwind and relax. The other is to work while relaxing. That seems impossible but in real estate investing, it actually is possible.

How does driving come into the picture of working? Simple. Investors who drive around neighborhoods on a Sunday morning are simply looking for prospective deals. They are looking for houses that could be turned into investment properties. They are in the hunt for properties that have windows boarded up. They look for houses that have overgrown lawn. Simply put, they are looking for real estate investing leads.

Another purpose driving might serve you is familiarity of the neighborhood. In many cases, investors go beyond their own neighborhoods and operate in nearby towns. You can rely on other methods to get leads – from your website, from birddogs – but nothing beats seeing the properties with your own eyes. It’s like seeing diamonds in the rough. You see them as a potential and they will draw your attention. They aren’t worth much today buy they will be worth a lot after a rehab. There’s just a sense of accomplishment for real estate investors who experience this.

From another perspective, driving around could be a waste of time, effort, and money. But that’s a pessimistic view of it. You’ll never know how many properties your birddog finders might have missed. So instead of doubting it, why not drive around on a Sunday morning? Real estate investing after all, is for action-takers.
