How Real Estate Investors Sharpen Their Brain
No comments yetThere’s this one article that listed 5 tips on keeping one’s brain sharp. If there’s one tip worth sharing, it’s probably the one that will probably apply to real estate investors the most.
In real estate investing – whether wholesaling houses, doing a house rehab, or even lending hard money – you always look to the future. And one of the tips was about that: focus on the future.
Citing a recent study, the article said that people who regularly look forward to something and are constantly making plans are actually lessening their chances of developing Alzheimer’s disease by 50%! The report added that it doesn’t matter how mundane or extraordinary the event you look forward to it. What matters is that you keep your brain focusing on the future. How will real estate investors do this?
In real estate investing, there are a lot of things to look forward to. If you’re doing some property rehabbing, then you can anticipate the date of meeting the contractor or the delivery of materials to the house you’re rehabbing. If you’re wholesaling houses, you can look forward to closing day and the cashing of your check. If you’re a hard money lender, then you can think about the due date of the loan.
Then again, real estate investors can also think of future happenings that are not related to real estate investing. For instance, you can look forward to your Sunday walk in the park with the kids, or to a Friday night dinner with your spouse. “Psychologically it keeps us motivated,” Elizabeth Edgerly, PhD, spokesperson for the Alzheimer’s Association.
