Harvard Dream and the Drive to Keep Flipping a House

No comments yet

Here at Rehab Hard Money, if you’ve been reading our blog posts, you probably would have noticed already that entries about college and education occasionally make their way into our pages. That’s because we are especially passionate about this topic. After all, a lot of investors who are working their asses off are actually flipping a house because they want to send their kids to college. I call this the “Harvard Dream.”

There are people I’ve known who never went to college. They had it the hard way, so to speak. They don’t want their kids to go through the same thing. It is but a noble way of driving oneself to keep on wholesaling houses, rehabbing homes, or whatever.

When I talk to these investors, relatively now well off compared to their rat race lives before they started investing in real estate, some college names keep on coming up. I guess it’s because of TV; probably surveys help cause it too. But the bottom line is education is deeply rooted in our society, and a lot of us have experienced first-hand that without it, life seems a bit more difficult (Not that it guarantees an easier life).

Hardvard, Princeton, Yale, and Columbia, always come up. And guess what? They are this year’s top four schools in a recent survey. These people I’ve talked to, would always, like “I’d send him to Harvard or Yale, pretty much his choice though!” If you’re rehabbing homes for this “Harvard Dream,” or “Columbia Dream,” whatever college, then suffice it to say that Rehab Hard Money is supporting your cause. Flipping a house is your means. Go for it.
