No comments yet

The Travel + Leisure’s America’s Favorite Cities Survey is out again and who topped this year’s edition? Before we reveal what city is most romantic for Americans, let’s have a little a lesson on REI marketing.

Marketing for real estate investing is a bit tricky because you never actually know what types of campaigns would work for your business. The best thing to do is to test these campaigns. Once you find out what campaign works best for you, concentrate on that one and improve it, perfect it. If it’s snail mail, then sell you rehabbing or wholesaling houses business through it. If it’s squeeze pages, then do squeeze pages.

Sandra Bullock, Rehab Homes, and Balance in Life

No comments yet

Well, as they say you can’t have everything in life. When you rehab homes, you earn tens of thousands of dollars but the project takes a few months to finish. That means you’ll have to wait for a little longer to earn money, compared to, say wholesaling houses.

Even Sandra Bullock, Forbes’ highest paid Hollywood actress from June 2009-2010, didn’t have everything. It was still a roller coaster year for her, despite pocketing just some $56 million. She reportedly made a lot of money by opting for a share of the profits of “The Blind Side,” which won her an Oscar as best actress. However, she had to deal with her divorce with ex-husband Jesse James. For those who rehab homes, this could just be plain Hollywood stuff.

Home Rehab Tip: ‘Paint’ Lowers Home Value

No comments yet

A research university in Norfolk, Virginia, recently released the results of its study on real estate-related matters. Perhaps those who are doing a home rehab now will find some of the results interesting.

Among the many things the Old Dominion University study suggested is that “paint” could actually lessen the chances of a house being sold. Not the actual paint of course, but only the word “paint” on the advertisement. Painting is but inevitable in rehabbing homes.

No comments yet

If you had $1 trillion how would you spend it? For house rehabbers, it is still too hard to imagine how much $1 trillion is. That’s even if a lot of investors became millionaires from flipping property.

An online writer, however, tried to illustrate how much that money really amounts to. He chose $1 trillion because it was the amount of the fiscal deficit. That means the governments spent that much more than it took in. Be ready house rehabbers, here we go.

Got $6.245 Million From Fix and Flip? Buy Hopper’s House

No comments yet

Maybe you don’t have $6.245 Million right now, but if you save up while you fix and flip houses, you might just amass that much money in a few years. By then, you’d be able to buy the late Dennis Hopper’s property in Venice Beach, California.

The 15,500-square foot property is where the actor and director reportedly entertained his Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, and other fellow friends from the show business industry. But that’s not the only reason why you should persevere in your rehabbing business and buy this house (although that seems like a remote possibility as you will need a few years to amass that much money).

Rehabbing Bathrooms with Luxury Showerheads?

No comments yet

Would you use a $5,457 showerhead when rehabbing bathrooms?

The answer of course would be a deafening “NO!” But it’s not only the huge price tag you should be looking at. Some luxury showerheads may not be compliant with the Department of Energy’s (DOE) regulations, as well as with the new interpretation of the term “showerhead.” This could be a home rehab problem for you.

What College Produces Highest Paid Alums? And Some Flipping Homes Stuff

No comments yet

Not all investors who are flipping homes went to college. Some of them are even dropouts. But that’s where you see what kind of people they are.

These investors – for whatever reason that they were unable to secure a college diploma – did not let that stop them from succeeding in real estate investing. As much celebrated writer Mark Twain put it, “Don’t let education get in the way of your learning.” Some investors, on the other hand, excelled academically but opted to pursue flipping homes because it earned them well.
